Our story

Hi, I’m Laura, your fabric-loving, you-got-this Sewing Trail Guide. I’m the Founder & CCO (Chief Creativity Officer) of Sew Your Adventure®.

Since Summer of 2018, I’ve welcomed 100s of kids into a lifelong love of sewing. I am passionate about passing on the love of sewing to the next generation. 

And along with sewing skills, there’s more: curiosity, courage, creativity, confidence and community. Woven throughout. Character that lasts.

Equipped with a MA in Curriculum & Instruction and nearly 2 decades of teaching experience, I’m here to welcome “but where do I start” new Sewists into a lifetime of imagination, problem-solving and solid foundational sewing skills. In the THE most inspiring, inviting, & exciting way.

As a both a skilled designer and educator, I believe that learning is done best alongside laughter and each other. One step at a time. Celebrating and marking our progress with quick wins. 

And that is why I’m here – and how Sew Your Adventure came to be!
